Explorador

Cover for Explorador

The first time I listened to this song it got me very confused because in it, Cristóbal Briceño sings exactly like Juan Gabriel, and as I said before in a previous incarnation of The Headphonist, it's not like a "modern version" of Juanga, but this could perfectly be a B-side of "No tengo dinero", from 1972.

Anyway, this is a great song in its own right. Perfectly executed pop rock and a very contagious melody, with lyrics talking about exploring the world and loving its people. I always use it as a backing track for my hiking stories on Instagram.

Me iré a recorrer el mundo
A conocerlo por completo
Voy a probar cada plato típico

Voy a subir cada montaña
Sumergirme en cada océano
A mirar cada pelea
Con cuidado de no participar en ninguna

If you don't know Cristóbal Briceño, you should explore some of his albums and projects. He's really, really good, and has gems like this one scattered all over his work. I already have two more songs lined up to go up here in the coming days.
